The Pre-A Level programme is a one-year programme to prepare students whose first language is not English for Advanced level study. The course is for students who have passed the high school leaving certificate from their home country, but whose level of English is not sufficient (minimum IELTS 5.5 or equivalent) to enrol directly on to Advanced level study (A Levels).

Fee Information: The College charges a range of fees, primarily Home and Overseas. Under 19s assessed as Home, do not pay the course fees, we only charge a 20 enrolment fee which is refunded if you complete the course. Home students over 19 undertaking their First Full Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE A-C) or their First Full Level 3 (equivalent to BTEC National or 2 ALevels) will be charged 20 enrolment fee plus any examination fees. For Home students over 19 receiving certain state benefits, the 20 enrolment is charged and not refundable. In all other instances, you will be charged the Home-EU or Overseas Fee.

About the course:
The course is an opportunity for students to improve their English language level to A Level standard whilst continuing to study Maths and Science.
The course also introduces A Level/University style tutorials to students who have experienced a very different style of schooling in their home country.
When the student progresses to Advanced level study or Degree Foundation, they are much better prepared and confident than if they had only studied English language.

Subjects studied:
- Science 6 Hours per week (Double Award)
- Maths 3 Hours per week
- IELTS prep 4 Hours per week
- Academic Tutorial 1 Hour per week
- Language Tutorial 1 Hour per week
- Study Skills 1 Hour per week

Course Fees: The total course fee is £4100. This includes tuition, examination and basic teaching materials. The fee does not include travel to UK, accommodation and living costs. Altogether applicants should prepare £10,000 to live in the UK for one year and study this programme.


Course Length: 36 weeks

After the course:

On successful completion you will be able to progress to either A Level study, BTEC National or Degree Foundation in Business.
To study Science A Levels, you will need to achieve B grades in Science and Maths subjects.
To study Social Science A Levels (Business, Economics, Accounting, Psychology) you must achieve C grades in Science and Maths.

Students must also achieve an IELTS score of 5.5 to progress to A Level or 5.0 to progress to BTEC National or Degree Foundation.
