International Foundation Diploma with English

The International Foundation Diploma with English is a pre-degree course for international students whose first language is not English. Successful completion provides access to many University of Greenwich undergraduate courses. However, some courses have additional or alternative entry requirements, so please check the relevant course page for more details. All modules develop students learning skills - especially writing, reading, listening, note taking, group work, speaking and presenting. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, use of the virtual learning environment (VLE) and other e-learning technologies and practical computing classes, along with individual and group tutorials. There are 15 hours per week of taught classes in addition to tutorials and independent study. The diploma course includes intensive English language modules that are accredited by the British Council. The maximum class size for these courses is 20 students. The aims of the course are to: Provide international students whose first language is not English with access to a range of undergraduate courses at the University of Greenwich. Provide students with opportunities to develop their English language skills in an academic context.
