MODULES Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector Planning and Enabling Learning Enabling Learning and Assessment Theories and Principles for Planning and Enabling Learning Continuing and Personal and Professional Development Curriculum Development for Inclusive Practice Wider Professional Practice 2 Optional modules The modules and learning outcomes present in each module are based on an analysis of the work of the teacher in post-compulsory education and training. These cover all the fundamental skills of teaching, the facilitation of learning and curriculum development. Two modules are devoted to practice in the workplace and others help develop knowledge and skills about individual growth, group dynamics, organisational behaviour and the needs of different client groups. ASSESSMENT Continuous assessment procedures apply. Each module requires the submission of a portfolio of evidence demonstrating appropriate knowledge and understanding abilities along with evidence of practical application. 120 CATS points are needed in order to achieve the PGCE- ie you must achieve a pass for all modules. Please note: Achievement of this qualification does not confer Qualified Teacher Status for schools (QTS).
