PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE
This course is designed for students with moderate learning difficulties. It can help bridge the gap between education and employment. Students will be allocated a personal tutor who will advise and offer guidance.
Emphasis will be placed on developing skills appropriate to the learning goals of each student. Competence in literacy and numeracy to meet the demands of everyday situations will also be an important feature. Students will also work on developing their independence skills, self-confidence and employability skills. Work experience is an integral part of the course.
Students can choose from a variety of vocational and Enrichment options including: Retail, Sport and Leisure, Catering, Technology, Practical Skills, Office Skills,Community Care, Art, Citizenship, ICT, Dance and Music.
All students must complete a work experience.
PROGRESSION/CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES
On successful completion of this course students can progress onto programmes such as: the Entry Level 3 Certificate in Skills for Working Life, NVQ Level 1 and Work Preparation at Croydon College. Some students may also be able to progress directly on to full or part-time employment.

EXCURSIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE Students must complete a successful work experience to achieve their Work Preparation Skills qualification
