Course aims:
If you are a talented and keen golfer then this is an excellent opportunity to enrol into the top golfing academy in the country. This specialist apprenticeship has been designed for those who wish to have a career in the professional game or teach and coach to a high standard. There really is no better place in the country for a young person to develop their game.
During your two-year apprenticeship you will receive top quality coaching at Lindfield Golf Club from Alan Dean (Course Leader), Denis Pugh (Coach to Colin Montgomerie), Paul Lyons (Head of Sussex U-16 squad and ex-European Tour pro) and receive high quality mentoring from professionals such as Pete Cohen (Sports Psychologist).
The academy is already renowned for producing sporting talent and several of the current students are ranked worldwide for their age-group competing in European tournaments at U-21 level, (such as the European Junior Championships) and being selected for Team GB 2009.
You will be able to benefit from all the fantastic facilities at Lindfield Golf Club, including the course, extensive practice facilities and gym. As this academy is delivered in partnership with City College, you will also have access to all the facilities found at our campus buildings.
As well as the high quality coaching, you will gain a series of industry recognised and high level qualifications that will enable you to be well prepared for a career in golf outside of the professional game. You will be able to coach or work within the industry at a high level, or use your qualifications to apply for a degree level course at University.

This course is an Advanced Apprenticeship in Golf, that consists of the following elements;

• NVQ Level 3 in Golf Coaching, Teaching& Instructing
• Btec National Certificate in Sport
• Key Skills Level 2 in Communication & Application of Number
• CYQ Level 3 Certificate in Understanding the Fitness Industry
• NCFC Certificate in Sports Coaching

Entry Requirements:
You must already be a talented golfer playing off a single figure handicap and also be interested in a career in the golfing industry. You should also have achieved at least 4 GCSEs grade A*- C.

Progression and links:
After successfully completing this apprenticeship you may wish to progress onto any number of degree level courses at University.
Alternatively, you may wish to pursue a career in the professional game, either as a player or coach.
