Course description
This course is for you if you have made a decision regarding the vocational area you wish to study, but would also like the flexibility to try out another vocational areas if you wanted to. You will study a Level 1 qualification as well as a range of core subjects. There may also be opportunities to take part in work experience and a residential trip.
There will be a range of core activities which you have to study that includes tutorials, functional skills, personal and social development, team activities and work experience.
You can choose from a range of vocational pathways:
• Hospitality, Travel and Tourism
• IT at Work
• Health and Social Care
• Business, Retail and Administration
• Sport
• Carpentry (not available at Witney)
• Painting and Decorating (not available at Witney)
Please note: All courses will run subject to adequate numbers. A final decision on whether courses are viable will not be made until after the induction week at the beginning of the course (usually 1-2 weeks following the first day of the course starting).

Final award
BTEC Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies.

Entry requirements
You are expected to have studied a range of GCSE's or have completed Step 5 or Step 6 (but this does depend on the individual's skills and abilities).
You will be invited for an interview to assess your suitability for the course and you will need to attend an assessment day.
Eligibility for this course will be depend on interview and assessment day results, and a final decision will be made after the assessment day.

Additional information

*Students aged 16-18 will not be required to pay the full course fee, in most cases your fee will not exceed £150. Please contact us if you need more information regarding fees for full-time courses.
