Entry Requirements
You will need an interest in the leisure and tourism industries and to have achieved either GCSEs at grades D or E or equivalent, or gained a successful vocational award at Foundation Level 1

Course content
This one year course will help you to understand the travel and tourism industry in the UK and to develop skills and knowledge needed to work in such industries.
The topics covered may include Customer Service, Tourist Destinations, organising a Travel and Tourism Event and Marketing.

How Will I Be Assessed?
You will produce a portfolio of coursework for each unit, which will be assessed by your tutors as you go along and verified by Edexcel. Your final grade will be Pass, Merit or Distinction.
At the end of the course you will get a certificate showing all of the units you have completed. If you complete the course your overall work will gain a Pass, Merit or Distinction grade and is the equivalent of 4 GCSEs. The qualification will gain entry onto an Advanced Level course or directly into employment in the industry.

What Could I Do Next?
Successful completion of the course could allow progression to advanced level courses such as the BTEC National Diploma in Travel and Tourism. Anyone who wishes to follow a career in one of the many sectors of the leisure and tourism industries will find this an ideal qualification.
