Is this course for you
This foundation course is a Level 1 City and Guilds programme. It is for the student wishing to start a career in the garage trade and will give a basic introduction to all vehicle systems.

What will you study
Most of the course is workshop based with one day theory. Students will study basic servicing operations covering: Cooling * Ignition * Lubrication * Emission Systems * Steering * Suspension Systems. Students will also study Workshop Safe Working Practices.

How will you be assessed
Throughout the year students will carry out assessments in the workshop and construct a portfolio. There will also be planned on line exams.

What can you do after course
Students can progress to the Level 2 programmes or transfer to work based learning to carry out an apprenticeship within the garage trade.
