What do I need?
A keen interest in Art and Design and samples of work or a GCSE in an Art subject.

What will I study?
Historical and Contextual Studies linked to Art and Design, painting, drawing, collage, assemblage, sculpture, installation, printmaking, digital imaging and design methods.

Where will I study?
Baltic Campus
You'll be based at our fantastic £39million Baltic campus on the quayside. The campus has a prime location on Gateshead quayside, and state-of-the-art facilities including a Jacuzzi, gym and sauna, a 200 seat theatre, state-of-the-art classrooms, training kitchen and restaurant, refectory, bistro and vending areas.

Assessment
Continuous assessment by course tutor and coursework marked at the end of each unit. You will complete two units of coursework. Your third unit consists of a control test at the end of the year.

How will I be taught?
You will take part in lectures, group seminars, one to one tutorials with your subject lecturer. All of which will help you resolve problems and enable you to work independently

What qualification will I get?
GCSE AS Level/ A Level Art and Design- Unendorsed

Can I go onto further study?
You can follow this with a GCSE A Level in Art and Design

What are the career opportunities?
You can undertake at HE a variety of Art and Design disciplines at HND

Does it include key skills?
All students following full time courses will be expected to develop their skills in English, Maths and ICT.
