About this course

1. Identify the three key rock types and list their characteristics,
2. Summarise the impact of the rock types on the landscapes and built history of the city and the landscapes within London
3. Identify the stone used in the key buildings selected in the course
4. Compare and contrast some of the qualities of key buildings in London.

This course will cover the following:
1. The rock types of Greater London

2. The landscape which results

3. Development of London’s urban landscape

4. The buildings and visual results.

Interactive illustrated lecture; practical examination of rock specimens; group discussion and question and answer. Bring a notepad and pen. There are no additional costs.
