Google AdWords Workshop

Google’s headline advertising revenues surpassed ITV1’s in the third quarter as the search engine demonstrated it could generate more money from sponsored links than 30-second commercials in Coronation Street. ... [and] despite ITV1 reaping an advertising boost from the Rugby World Cup.

Google AdWords is currently one of the, if not the, most powerful advertising media in the world. And unlike traditional media, such as newspapers and television, Google AdWords is available to companies of all sizes and with any budget.

What Are Google AdWords?

Google AdWords are the pay-per-click adverts (image, text or video) which are primarily found on the right-hand side of the search results of Google. They can also be found on its partner network and the wider network. An advertiser’s AdWords are displayed only when someone searching Google, or the other networks, types in certain keywords - they always appear under the words “sponsored links”. Unlike traditional banner advertising, and much online banner advertising, advertisers only get charged once an AdWord is clicked.

Why Are Google AdWords Important to Your Business?
Google AdWords actually help to level the playing field in terms of competition. They allow SME’s to quickly and easily create adverts which can pitch them head to head with their larger competitors. Admittedly the budgets of these organisations will be far higher but it is possible, by using the right techniques, to maximise your return on investment from Google AdWords. Here are some key features:

  • Google AdWord Campaigns can be created within minutes
  • You can create AdWords that are targeted to specific words
  • Google AdWords are not just used for sales but can help to raise brand awareness and enquiries
  • We have clients who have managed to use AdWords to reach new geographic markets, Ireland and Germany are examples
  • AdWords can be run to coincide with key times of the year - summer, Christmas or even sporting events
  • Advanced reporting means you can analyse the performance of ads, keywords and even sites in real time
