About this course

Ideally you should have four GCSEs at grade C or above, of which at least one is an art and design related subject. Students with other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis.

About the Course
Graphic Design is communication of information and ideas by visual means. It is used in all forms of contemporary life from packaging, advertising, book and poster design to logos and typography. This course gives you an opportunity to develop an understanding of successful communication of a message through the organisation of words and images.
Various design briefs and projects will introduce you to a wide range of graphical media and techniques, including some computer graphics. There will be an initial charge for materials and equipment of approximately £65, and a further charge of approximately £50 for materials in the second year.

During each of the two years of the course you are required to undertake: Coursework - 60%,
Controlled Assignment - 40%.
Fees
No Course Fees for Under 19's. Over 19's must pay, or claim Level 2 or Level 3 Entitlement for FREE courses .
What next?
This course is very useful if you are a potential artist or designer and is favourably viewed as an entry qualification for art and design colleges. It is also a good complementary study if you are entering art, design, graphics, illustration or advertising.
