About this course
There are no formal qualfications required, all candidates will be interviewed and undertake an Intital Assessment. Personal qualitites such as self-motivation and a genuine interest and commitment to study will also be expected. The course involves written tests and assignments and therefore requires a good academic abilitiy.

A clean black short sleeved tunic and black trousers. Black flat heeled closed toe shoes. No Jewellery (including facial jewellery) allowed, short nails essential. Order forms will be given on enrolment.
How will I learn?
You will learn in state-of-the-art treatment rooms and salons, using industry standard equipment and high quality products. Have access to the latest online learning materials delivered using Smartboards and Plasma screen TVs. The course will be taught using a variety of approaches, these include; practical work, directed learning on computers, independent study and tutorials.
How will I be assessed?
Units assessed throughout the course. Practical work is assessed through performance and questions. Theoretical knowledge is covered by written questions, assignments, portfolio work and external tests.
Where could it lead?
Once learners have completed the Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing, they would have enough knowledge to become a Junior stylist, but would still need to gain some practical experience.
The Diploma in Hairdressing is used as a progression route to NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing.
