Course Description
All College First courses include Vocational studies, English, Maths and IT. You may be involved in additional activities, ie visits and trips. You will join an induction to help you settle and it may be possible to take more than one vocational option.Along with working on your professional technique, you will also improve your IT and communication skills. As a College First student you may also be involved in a range of additional activities, including visits, team events, enterprise projects, etc.

Entry Requirements
GCSEs: At least 4 GCSEs at Grade E one of which must be English. (Maths required for some subjects)

Modules Studied:

• Assist with salon reception
• Shampooing and conditioning the hair
• Assist with hair colour services
• Health and safety
• Contributing to the development of effective working relationships
• Prepare for hairdressing services

Awarding Body: VTCT

Level: L1

Duration: 1 year

Attendance Modes: Day

Assessment: A range of methods will be used, including assignments, practical assessment and, for some courses, external tests and portfolio work.

Progression Routes: You can continue your studies onto a vocational course at Level 2 or choose to pursue employment.
