You will be working in a realistic environment treating clients to a commercial standard. The methods of study are open learning packages and practical salon workshops.
About the Course
Student will study for a full NVQ Level 3 Hairdressing which includes the following units:-
G1: Enables you to understand the Health & Safety expectations concerned in a working salon.
G6: Gives you the skills needed for promotion of products and services to your clients.
G9: Will develop your consultation skills prior to hairdressing services.
H25: Style and dress hair to achieve a variety of creative looks.
H26: Style and dress long hair.
H27: Create a variety of looks using a combination of cutting techniques.
H28: Provide a colour correction service.
H29: Perm hair using a variety of techniques.
H30: Colour hair using a variety of techniques.
Course Aims
To develop advanced techniques to use alongside your achievements at level 2.

How is the course assessed?
Orally 5%
Practical - Salon based tasks - 70%
Written evidence - 25%
including written examinations for each unit.
Are there any resources to obtain?
Students will need to ware a uniform and it would be expected that students would already have their own equipment, however order forms for uniform and kit are available through the college.
