What will I study?
In year one you will study three distinct units that are designed to address key areas in health care: promoting quality care is about equal opportunity in care settings; communication in care settings is a diverse unit that seeks to increase your understanding of how health professionals & clients communicate and how this may be developed; promoting good health explores how to develop a persuasive health promotion campaign.
In year two you will study a further three units from this list:
· Care practice and provision.
· Understanding human behaviour.
· Child development.
· Mental health issues.
· Research methods in health and social care.
· Social trends.

How is the course assessed?
In year one you will produce two portfolios which will be assessed internally and you will have one summer exam on the third unit.
In the second year two of the units will be assessed by exam and one will be assessed using a portfolio.

What enrichment will there be?
Activities Include:
· University trips.
· Diabetes event.
· Heartstart course run by the fire service.
· Community involvement - NHS forums.
· Edge Hill University visit.

Higher education is ideally suited if you are looking to study at degree level in a health-related subject.
