This course uses the very latest information and a variety of contacts to deliver the varied content of this ever changing subject.

What will I study?
This is an advanced level course; work experience is also a requirement. You will study 18 units including the following titles:
· Behavioural awareness in care.
· Introduction to counselling skills.
· Coping with stress in care environments.
· Creative activities for groups in care.
· Behavioural psychology in health, social care and early years settings.
· Work experience in health, social care and early years settings.
· Mental health awareness.
· Complementary approaches to care.
· Health education and promotion.
· Working with children in education.
· Working in early years care and education.
· Child development.
· Investigating child protection services.
· Developing skills to care for babies.

How is the course assessed?
All units are assessed internally. You will produce a portfolio for each unit which will be assessed by your tutors and moderated by the exam board.

What could I do next?
This course is a complete package if you intend to go on to further study in nursing or social work for example; this qualification is similar in university points to three A-levels.
