Gain an underpinning technical knowledge appropriate for operations and work on High Voltage and Low Voltage networks Identify dangers that may arise from the system/work using: Risk Assessments and Method Statements Safe Working Procedures Isolation Earthing Demonstrate a high level of practical performance whilst Safely operating HV and LV switchgear Demonstrate a level of confidence and approach to the management of safety systems required when working on HV and LV systems. Apply Safe Systems of Work for working on HV and LV systems, which will include: Safety programmes and schedules of work Issue and receive Safety Documents Reminder for gaining safe access to substations and switch-rooms and to carryout risk assessments, identify hazards prior to entry and work in such enclosures. Apply the duties and responsibilities of competent persons as defined in Electricity at Work Regulations (1989) when working and operating on both HV and LV electrical systems.
