Study Method:
You will complete an assignment for each unit. These will be internally or externally assessed. In addition, you will sit three Functional Skills examinations.
Duration :One-year course. Full-time programme.
Who the Course is For:
Students who wish to pursue a career or study path in the Health or Care sector. This may include nursing/childcare/justice/adult care/special needs/social work.
Assessment:
Students will complete an assignment for each unit. These will be internally or externally assessed. In addition, you will sit Functional Skills examinations.
Students are allocated a Personal Coach who will provide support and guidance at regular intervals during the course.
Course Leads To:
The Higher Diploma is equivalent to seven GCSEs and will enable students to pursue higher levels of study.
Students can progress onto the Advanced Diploma in Society, Health and Development.

A PROJECT related to the sector.
Relevant WORK EXPERIENCE linked to the area for study.
ADDITIONAL and SPECIALIST LEARNING could include:
An additional short qualification
An additional GCSE.
This could be an individually chosen unit which reflects students own interests and aspirations.
