The first year of study provides a strong linguistic and cultural foundation, with core language and culture courses introducing students to a wide range of subjects and skills. Intermediate and final years in Warwick continue advanced language study along with a personalised selection from our portfolio of specialist cultural modules, allowing for both depth and breadth of study. There will be the opportunity to study abroad in your second or third year of study, immersing yourself in Hispanic culture, in Spain, the Caribbean, or South America.
At the end of the course you will have achieved a high-level of linguistic fluency and intercultural competence, extensive experience of living and working internationally, in-depth knowledge and understanding of the Hispanic world, its histories and cultures and excellent research, analysis and communication skills.

You will combine your interest in one of the world’s leading global cultures with your desire to develop a critical and creative understanding of theatre and performance, which together equip you to explore the rich theatrical and performing culture of the Hispanic world.

We employ a variety of teaching approaches, including lectures, seminars (in which the emphasis is on student participation) and written and spoken language classes. You will spend the rest of your time studying independently, preparing for classes, reading or watching primary texts, engaging with secondary sources, writing essays and working on your language skills.
How will I be assessed?
We will track your progress through a variety of methods, including language assignments, essays, presentations, portfolio submissions and examinations (written and oral). Throughout your course you will receive detailed, personalised feedback to help you to improve your skills.
