Hispanic Studies with Italian (25% Italian) will enable you to take a full range of Hispanic studies modules and start – or keep up - your Italian language.
You can spend your year abroad either in a Spanish-speaking country for the whole year, or you can split your time between a Spanish-speaking country and an Italian-speaking country.
Spanish is a world language with around 400 million speakers and is today one of the most important languages for commerce and cultural exchange. Warwick offers an innovative approach, combining the study of the Spanish language with the study of the diverse range of Hispanic cultures across Europe, the Caribbean, the Americas, and event aspects of Hispanic history in Africa and the Pacific.
You will work closely with leading researchers whose specialisms range from contemporary Spain to Latin America, via Galicia, the Caribbean, the Atlantic and even the UK. We accept both beginners and students with some knowledge of Spanish, and in your first year we teach you in classes appropriate to your linguistic level.
You will study an Italian language module in your first and intermediate years at Warwick, and in your final year you can choose either to continue studying language or take an Italian culture module if you have reached a satisfactory language standard in your intermediate year.
