What will I study?
The AS programme will follow the Early Modern options on the AQA syllabus and will consist of the following examined units: 1. Henry VIII and the English Reformation 1529-47 2. Duration:
One year for the AS qualification, an additional year to complete A2.
Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
A substantial amount of background reading is required in the form of detailed handouts, books and original source material drawn primarily from the 16th and 17th centuries.
How will I be assessed?
By two examination papers in the first year, and by a mixture of examination and coursework in year two.
What can I do afterwards?
Provides a good academic formation for university entrance, and is especially useful for those intending to study History at university.
Are there any additional costs involved?
Possibly for textbooks, although a substantial amount of material is produced by the department.
