The course will equip you with vital analytical skills that can be used in any subject or occupation.
What will I study?
The course consists of four modules, two of which will be studied in year one (AS) and a further two in year two (A2).
- The US and the Cold War in Asia 1945-1975
- British Domestic Developments 1918-1951
- Civil Rights in the USA 1865-1992
- Historical Interpretations and Investigations (coursework)
What will I achieve?
History A-Level gives students potential progression to a wide range of degree courses and opens up careers opportunities in fields such as Law, Journalism, Media, Politics, Civil Service and Teaching.
How is the course assessed?
This is a modular course assessed through three examinations and one piece of coursework.
What else will I do?
Students will take part in a wide range of trips, lectures and discussion groups. The A2 classes have the opportunity to visit New York and Washington DC.
