Course Content
· Introduction to the Horticultural Industry
· Amenity and Decorative Horticulture
· Turf Establishment and Maintenance
· Introduction to Specialist Land Based Machinery
· Introduction to Plant Biology
· You will also be required to undertake a minimum period of relevant work experience
· Key Skills (at an appropriate level) The course involves 3-4 days attendance at the Wigfield Farm Site and one day on an approved work placement in the horticultural industry. Some of the practical work will be undertaken in partnership with Wentworth Castle Gardens. Assessment is through written assignments plus the successful completion of practical tasks.
