Course programme

Hi I'm Debra Stevens and for the past 15 years I have been working with large organisations around the world (including Coke, Carlsberg, Financial Times and Penguin Books) and normally I don’t open up my workshops to the public, but I have decided for the first time ever to invite a selected few people to experience my brand new workshop ‘HOW TO GET IT!’ This is a rare opportunity to learn for yourself what you need to do to improve your personal impact! You will see the incredible use of actors in a learning environmen.Forum theatre is used to demonstrate and engage the audience in a amazing learning experience … see how small changes to your behaviour can reap incredible results at work, in the meeting room, in front of an audience and with your friends Packed with techniques, hints, tips and tools you will be able to take away and use with unbelievable effect immediately I will be delivering this workshop along with colleague Simon Delany , Simon is a RADA trained actor and expert in personal impact and communication. Both Simon and I have worked with thousands of people in top companies to help improve their personal impact and now you can benefit from our extensive experience. Forum theatre is at the heart of our practical approach and through a mix of this and practical exercises we will demonstrate the do’s and don’ts to successfully be the person people like, listen to and remember How to get It ‘Course Objectives: Understand how you impact on others Know how and why things go wrong Improve your ability to influence others Finding out how others see you Verbal and non-verbal communication this workshop includes the use of professional actors to demonstrate the different behaviours and bring the subject to life. Participants will not have to act or role play. Making an Impact An in-depth look at what makes an impact and how people impact on one another. Followed by a breakdown of the components that go into making an impact. Analysis of each person's style and strengths Each person gives a short analysis of their personal style and what works for them, paying particular attention to how they think they impact on others. They will get feedback from their colleagues on what else they see working. We then look at what gets in the way of making the Impact they want? Assumptions and Personal Impact A look at the assumptions we make automatically and how they affect the way we behave. Communication Workshop An interactive session which will give participants tools to improve their communication immediately and help them to improve the way they connect with all people in every situation. The importance of passion and energy This is a chance for each participant to look at the power of expression and just how much they limit themselves in that expression. Language We look at the words we use habitually and an exploration into how the choice of language can ensure a specific response. Persuasion, motivation and inspiration Connecting with your purpose and inspiring others
