Course overview

Human resource management is widely recognized as a growing sector that is instrumental in driving business needs forward, influencing business strategy and shaping people at work. This level 5 Intermediate Diploma in Professional Development in HRM is aimed at dynamic individuals who already have some HR technical expertise or who are working in HR but who wish to enhance their careers further in the profession and gain higher level HR positions.

Based in the heart of the City of London, the course offers a distinctive approach. You’ll develop effective practitioner-based skills, capabilities and more generic HR competencies to accommodate the needs of industry and to enhance your professional and employability skills.

You’ll also be studying on a course that is approved by the professional body for HRM – the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Successful completion of the course, in conjunction with joining CIPD, leads to the CIPD’s Intermediate Level Diploma and Associate CIPD membership. Achieving the Diploma is of major significance in gaining HR roles not only in the UK but also abroad.

A programme of guest speakers from industry and authors of eminent works is incorporated into our HRM courses. In addition, regular employability careers sessions for HR students are run. Our staff are dedicated to their research and you also benefit by being able to attend staff research seminars.

As a teaching team we place particular emphasis on promoting a friendly, supportive environment.
