ICT Practitioners BTEC First Diploma Level 2

Then the First Diploma for ICT Practitioners could be for you. A practical based course assessed by course work. Progression onto the national Diploma or into work.

Course Content:
The Edexcel Level 2 BTEC First Diploma for ICT Practitioners consists of two core units:

• Using ICT to Present Information and
• Introduction to Computer systems

plus specialist units :

• Technical fault finding
• Networking Essentials
• Installing software
• Installing Hardware Components

You may be able to combine Maths or English GCSE with your First Diploma.

Learning Style:
As much practical as possible in our dedicated hardware and software labs. There will also be class work and group work.

Equipment Requirements:
Anti-static wrist band.

Assessment:
Task based course work, as practical as possible.

Progression:
If you gain Merits and Distinctions in your subjects, you could progress to a variety of BTEC Nationals.

This course is good preparation for careers such as computer operating, user help desk assistant, trainee PC support technician and network support technician.
