ILM First Line Management Award
The ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management aims to give practising or potential first line managers the foundation for their formal development in this role. The qualifcation does this by developing basic management skills and assisting partipants in gaining the basic knowledge required at this level.

What does the course involve?
This course revolves around taught based classes and workshops to carry out practical tasks with tutor support. The course is taken in taught classes by experienced tutors in the area of marketing and management. To achieve the Award candidates need to become a member of the ILM and to pass all three modules.

What will I study?
Module 1: Solving problems and making decisions Describe a problem, its nature and scope. Gather and interpret information. Briefly summarise the options providing facts and evidence.

Module 2: Introduction to Leadership Identify the factors that will influence their choice of leadership styles. Explain why these leadership styles have an effect on individuals/groups. Assess own leadership behaviour and organisational practices. Describe appropriate actions to enhance own leadership behaviour in the context of a leadership model.

Module 3: Building the team Explain how the behaviours can develop trust. Explain why confidentiality is important. Give one example of a group and a team. Briefly describe the stages of an established model of group formation. Explain how a manager could benefit from knowing team members' team roles.
