About this course

Participants should be at least 20 years old and hold a position which will enable them to benefit and become a more effective manager. Due to the nature of the programme, participants are required to have GCSE â€-C or above in English or Level 2 Adult Literacy, as well as a good command of ICT skills.

The main areas of study are: Problem Solving and Decision Making, Introduction to Leadership, Motivating to Perform in the Workplace, Understanding Change in the Workplace, Planning Change in the Workplace, Achieving Objectives Through Time Management, Managing Conflict in the Workplace, Managing Stress in the Workplace, Managing the Employment Relationship, Providing Quality to Customers, Giving Briefings and Making Presentations in the Workplace, Coaching and Training your Work Team and Building the Team.

Special Features: Your work and performance will be continuously assessed throughout the programme by work-based assignments, reflective reviews and presentations. You will be given tutor guidance on a one-to-one basis where required. There are no formal examinations but you will be required to complete all course work to the required standard as set by ILM.

Progression: Progression to ILM Level 4 Award in Management or the ILM Level 5 Diploma in Management.
