About this course

Participants will be newly appointed Supervisory/Junior Managers in both the public and private sector with the opportunity to meet the assessment demands and have a background that will enable them to benefit from the programme. Due to the nature of the programme, participants are required to have GCSE 'C' or above in English or Level 2 Adult Literacy, as well as a good command of ICT skills.

Course Content: The ILM Level 3 Award in First Line Management aims to give practising or potential first line managers the foundation for their formal development in this role. The qualification does this by developing basic management skills and assisting participants in gaining the basic knowledge required at this level. The main areas of study are: Problem Solving and Decision Making, Introduction to Leadership, and Motivating to Perform in the Workplace.

Special Features: There are no formal examinations but participants must complete two work based assignments on Problem Solving and Decision Making, and Motivating to Perform in the Workplace. They must also complete a Reflective Review on Introduction to Leadership.

Course Format: Start Dates in September, January and April.

Progression: Successful participants may benefit from career enhancement and/or progress to any of the further qualifications listed:
