This programme combines both HR practices and first-rate Management Development Training. It’s the perfect short course for managers at any level that have some HR responsibilities within an organisation but who have had little or no formal training. Covering areas such as recruitment, disciplinaries, inductions, and performance management, it also makes a great refresher course for anyone who has held or is returning to an HR role.
This course is usually run face-to-face as classroom based learning but due to COVID-19 it is being held over Zoom in a live e-learning style. Therefore, you must be able to attend the live Zoom sessions, which typically run from approximately 9:30am until 4:30pm, including a lunch break and regular comfort breaks.
About this course
This qualification is ideal if you are have HR management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing your abilities. It’s particularly suited to practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management, and managers who need to lead people through organisational change, budget cuts or other pressures.
This course is suitable for individuals who wish to expand their knowledge and invest in their personal development. It is also suitable for businesses to book their employees on as part of a training needs analysis to improve the productivity and quality of work, and manage the performance of employees.
You'll need to complete the six modules which are delivered one/two per day. The days comprise of two sessions (morning/afternoon); you'll need to attend five days in total. Each session will be between 2 and 3 hours each; one in the morning from approximately 9.30am and one in the afternoon from 1.30pm.
Owing to Covid-19 restrictions, courses will be delivered over online conferencing platforms. Delegates require an Internet connected device with video and audio capability such as a laptop, iPad or tablet computer.
You must have a good level of English speaking and understanding.

• Methods of advertising vacancies, including the use of digital channels
• Preparation for interviews to ensure impartiality and optimum
Module Day 3
Understanding Good Practice in Workplace Coaching:
• The nature and role of Coaching in the workplace
• Behaviours, skills, abilities and characteristics of an effective workplace coach including recognised Coaching Models
• Differences between Coaching and Line manager responsibilities and importance of coaching records
Modules Day 4
Inductions & Performance Management:
• Understand responsibilities for managing team, individual performance and meeting objectives
• How to ensure fair and objective assessment, conduct formal appraisals and the relevance of SMART objectives
• Setting and measuring performance standards why poor performance occurs
Understand Conflict Management in the Workplace:
• Develop knowledge and understanding of managing conflict
• Supporting individuals and managers through difficult situations
Module Day 5
Understanding Discipline in the Workplace:
• Discuss organisational employment policies to support the disciplinary process
• Legal aspects of disciplinary processes
• Interpersonal behaviour and support skills to maintain discipline at work
• The importance of record keeping and other means to support and monitor the disciplinary process

Completion of this course entails delegates submitting 4 assignments and 2 sets of short-answer questions within the deadlines communicated at enrolment stage. Typically, these are to be submitted on a fortnightly basis.
