Study Method:
This course runs at CEME (The Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence). Study methodds include formal classroom sessions and assignments, in addition to the workshop periods where practical skills of fault diagnosis and unit replacement are developed.
Duration :2 Years, 6.5 Hours Per Week (Part time Day)
Who the Course is For:
Prepares students for IMI Diploma in Motor Vehicle programmes. This course facilitates the development of practical skills and knowledge essential for those training to become qualified road vehicle service and repair technicians. The IMI Certificate in Motor Vehicle is a Technical Certificate, a necessary requirement for the Apprenticeship Framework. This ensures that the course satisfies the students and meets the national standards set by the Automotive Skills Council.
Assessment:
All units are examined by on-line assessment in the form of multiple-choice questions and in order to assess the students ability to perform practical tasks to industry standards, simulated workshop activities of fault diagnosis and repair are arranged.
Course Leads To:
Career development in the vehicle service and repair trade. Progression to the IMI Diploma in Motor Vehicle, for vehicle diagnostic technicians. Advanced Apprenticeship programme when signed up with a managing agent.
