This module provides an opportunity for you to work independently to develop a study of your own choosing (subject to approval) at level 6. It enables you to explore in detail an aspect of practice that is of particular interest to you as an individual practitioner.

About this course

On completion of this module you will be able to:

Critically analyse and evaluate an aspect of practice
Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
In addition you will be required to formulate specific objectives for your individual work, which will require approval by the Independent Studies Committee.

About this module

The process of developing this study will enhance your ability to work independently through the entire process of project management. This includes consideration of ethical and legal issues; communications including obtaining relevant permissions; literature review; discovering and using internal systems and processes; managing time and resources; planning, implementing and evaluating the project; evaluation; recommendations; report writing and dissemination.

It will enable the you to further develop academic skills such as problem solving, critical analysis and objective evaluation leading to recommendations for improving practice. It provides an opportunity for you to demonstrate their creative thinking and organisational skills.
