What's it all about?:
Our course is for anyone giving or receiving care at home, at a health centre or clinic, or elsewhere in the community who wants to keep themselves and their patients infection-free. We will teach you what to look out for and how to prevent and control infections. We will also show you the strict hygiene procedures that you need to follow so you can feel confident you can keep yourself and anyone in your care safe while they recover.

Progression:
On completion you may use the qualification as a stand alone qualification to enhance employment prospects, or as a progress route to higher level qualifications within this area.

Entry Requirements:
There are no specific entry requirements.

Duration: Half day

This short course is suitable for health and social care staff, auxiliaries, care workers and healthcare assistants. It will enable them to reduce the risk of contamination in their individual work settings, including those who work with individuals in their own home.
