What will I learn?

BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Creative Digital Media Production includes 5 mandatory units and a wide selection of optional units which cover a diverse range of standard professional computer software Video, Computer Gaming, Digital Graphics & Audio are just some of the range of skills that will be developed on the course Employability skills are incorporated in to the qualification with up-to-date and current information about possible career paths

How will I be assessed?

The units are highly practical with the emphasis on 'doing' rather than writing about There are formal examinations in English and Maths and some of the mandatory units of the Diploma Students will need to develop skills in a wide range of industry standard software to enable progression on to Level 3 or employment

What may it lead to?

There is potential for the qualification to prepare learners for employment in a particular area of work Some learners may wish to gain the level 2 qualification in order to enter a specialist area of employment or to progress to a Level 3 programme Other learners may want to extend the specialism they studied on the course

Entry Requirements

Ideally the student will have 4 GCSE's including English and Maths or may already have a level 1 Diploma in creative media or IT This may not always be the case, so an interview with members of the team will assess if the programme of study is suitable for the student

Work Experience

Enrichment opportunities will include visits, activities and speakers such as: Barry Robinson, IT Director at Norland Managed Services, work experience with the Community Media Centre training in radio broadcasting, a behind the scenes trip to Bluewater

Additional Information & Other Costs

A portable hard drive will also be required as media work will need to be frequently saved
