This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of ICT providing a foundation from which to extend your knowledge of this growing area. The subject is taught in well- equipped rooms using up to date technology. Students have access to computers during free periods for private study.
What will I study?
The applied ICT programme is very practical, more so than an A-Level in ICT. You will learn ICT applications, learn how organisations use ICT and apply ICT to solve problems within a business context. This course includes the use of spreadsheets, databases and other office software.
In the second year you will work on website design software and Flash animation. You will also work to a specific project brief.
How is the course assessed?
AS-Level: Two internal assessments and one external assessment.
A2-Level: Two internal assessments and one external assessment.
