Please note that we are not able to sponsor students on this programme for a Tier 4 visa. The Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy (ADIP) provides a focused psychotherapy training that challenges and contributes to a wide range of understandings of the therapeutic encounter. The course will prepare you for professional work in both private and institutional practice. The School is an accrediting organisation within the Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy College of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). About this course


Study methods The course comprises seminars, lectures, small-group training supervisions, participation in personal and professional development groups, and further clinical practice guided by experienced professionals. There are also occasional and optional half-day or full-day seminars on subjects of topical or significant clinical interest. The course emphasises experiential practice and training supervision using video- and audio-taping equipment, and the developmental and integrative arena of the personal and professional group experience. The course team includes psychodynamic, experiential and integrative tutors and training supervisors. Some of the core team will adopt different roles through the duration of the course, including supervision, lecturing and facilitating the PPD group. Course programme

Length

The course is designed to be completed in two years and consists of one full day’s attendance for 30 weeks a year, arranged into six 10-week modules.

Clinical Placement

You are expected to work throughout the course with your own clients (normally three adult clients on a minimum basis of once a week. At least one of these clients should be long-term. You must complete a minimum of 200 hours of supervised clinical practice during the course to qualify for the ADIP. This will count towards the total of 450 hours needed for UKCP membership.

Supervision

Every student is expected to undertake individual therapy with an approved UKCP-registered therapist throughout the duration of the course.

The course contains two strands of further training and development as part of the integrative perspective: the psychodynamic and the experiential/humanistic. The course explores the tensions and convergences between these in different ways.
