INTERMEDIATE LIFE SUPPORT
Length of course: Full Day
Candidates: Registered nurses
Aims and Objectives: Candidate will be able to recognise an at-risk patient, and be able to accurately take and interpret observations. Candidate will be able to promptly and effectively deal with an in-hospital cardiac arrest.
Course Content: -Recognition of an at-risk patient -Importance of accurate recording of observations -Assessment of patient and appropriate action -latest Resuscitation techniques -Managing an airway - BMV -Basic Anatomy of the heart -Conduction of the heart -Basic rhythms and reading of ECG -Basics of defibrillation -Understanding how to safely defib a patient in VF or VT -Emergency Circulatory Access -Deal with a choking adult -Recovery position
