Internal Verifier Level 4

Description

This award is for internal verifiers within an NVQ assessment centre whose role involves carrying out internal verification or moderation and evaluating assessment processes.

Qualification overview

Every assessment centre must have at least one qualified internal verifier for each scheme they run. The internal verification is an essential part of the NVQ process
and ensures the quality and integrity of the award.

Timescale

The timescale of this training is dependent on the current experience of the trainee internal verifier. It would usually take six sessions of two hour tutorials for a candidate to understand and be able to carry out the complexities of the role. An internal verifier must complete the V1 unit within one year of commencing their role.

Content

The V1 unit is comprised of the following four unit elements:

* Carry out and evaluate internal assessment and quality assurance systems
* Support assessors
* Monitor the quality of assessors' performance
* Meet external quality assurance requirements

Awarding body

The awarding body for this qualification is Edexcel.

Assessment

You will have to provide assessment information on particular sets of standards and give clear feedback on performance by using internal and external quality assurance processes. There must be evidence of having procedures in place for appeals and complaints within the local assessment centre, which meet external requirements.
