Legal and Political Institutions in UK & EU. This module is designed to introduce students to the major legal processes and structures and institutional framework of the United Kingdom and European Union, in preparation for progressing to their undergraduate degree.. Media, Crime and 'Race'. This module provides an introduction to media, crime and deviance and ‘race’ and racism.. Researching Discrimination. Students will acquire research skills through a guided research project. They will use these as a basis for producing a short report.. Researching Inequality. Students will be introduced to various key areas of current research within the area of social sciences and humanities. They will analyse this research, undertake further research and this will inform their research proposal. They will give an oral presentation based on their area of research interest.. Foundation English. This module focuses on helping students to raise their level of English across the four main skills areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening in preparation for entry to a range of undergraduate degrees.

The International Foundation Programme Law course is a one-year programme designed to prepare EU and overseas students for an undergraduate degree at London Met. You’ll be introduced to key concepts in law, develop key study and English language skills, and gain an orientation to higher education in the UK. It will also introduce you to academic study in the UK and, if necessary, help you to reach a level equivalent to at least 5.5 IELTS in English. You'll be registered as a London Metropolitan University student, and successful students are guaranteed a place on a suitable degree course at London Met. Please note that there is no UK public (or Student Finance England) funding available for this course. Assessment You'll be assessed through examinations, essays, practical reports and presentations.
