Entry requirements & how to apply
Minimum requirements High 2:1 (65%)

High 2:1 undergraduate degree (minimum 65 per cent or above in the UK marking system) in any non-marketing subject area with relevant work experience.

In order to meet the academic entry requirements for this programme you should have a minimum high 2:1 undergraduate degree with a final mark of at least 65% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you are still studying you should be achieving an average of at least 65% or above in the UK marking scheme. If you do not meet the academic entry requirements for this programme, we can consider 5+ years work experience in management or marketing.

While not a requirement, some familiarity with data analysis/statistical software, such as Microsoft Excel or SPSS, is recommended.

Application procedure

Applications must be made online using King’s online application portal apply.kcl.ac.uk and a non-refundable application fee of £80 applies.

Your application will be assessed by academic staff in the department; we aim to process all applications within four to six weeks, but during February, March and holiday periods, applications may take longer to process.

Course detail Description

You’ll be taught by world-renowned scholars. Their expertise and experience will give you cutting-edge insights into international marketing. King’s is known around the world for the quality of our research and your course will take full advantage of our findings.

It’s a diverse course – our teaching staff come from 10 different countries and our students come from all over the world.

We’ll deliver the course through a case-studies, computer simulation, exercises, experiments, as well as traditional lectures. You’ll study core modules in key areas. You also have a choice of optional modules in a wide range of subjects including brand management and international marketing communications.

Whether you want a career change or you’re already in the job and looking to improve your marketing skills, we’ll help you better understand the issues facing the marketing industry.

You’ll learn the theory – but also develop the skills to put your knowledge into practice. And because this degree is all about improving your career options, you’ll have the chance to take a Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification.

Course format and assessment

Assessment methods will depend on the modules selected. The primary methods of assessment for this course are written examinations, coursework, individual or group projects, presentations, case studies and multiple-choice tests.

Extra information

Our programme provides an MBA type delivery of an MSc.

Classes are provided over intensive weekend blocks. There are approximately one to four blocks per term depending on the stage of the programme, which inludes all course content.

Specifically, the weekend block teaching is offered at the following times:

Friday: 17.30-20.30

Saturday: 10.00-13.00 / BREAK / 14.00-17.00

Sunday: 10.00-13.00 / 14:00 - 17:00

Structure

Year 1

Courses are divided into modules. You will normally take modules totalling 180 credits.

Part-time students should plan to take 75 credits of required modules in their first year, and 45 credits of optional modules and 60 credits from the dissertation module in their second year.

You are required to take:

• Marketing Theory & Practice (15 credits)

• Consumer Behaviour (15 credits)

• Marketing Strategy & Planning (15 credits)

• Research in Marketing (15 credits)

• Research Project (Dissertation) (60 credits)

Optional Modules

In addition, you are required to take 45 credits from a range of optional modules, which may typically include:

• International Services Marketing (15 credits)

• Business to Business Marketing (15 credits)

• Marketing Analytics (15 credits)

• Digital Marketing (15 credits)

• International Marketing Communications (15 credits)

• Brand Management (15 credits)
