An interpreter, understood as a foreign language expert, is a person who, unlike a translator, translates orally (or by means of signs in the case of sign languages) from a source language into a target language. Interpretation is characterized not only by the evanescence of the oral language, but also by mimicry, gestures, good knowledge of rhetoric, fluency and understanding of the spoken language.
