About this course
There are no formal entry requirements for this course, and will be suitable for complete beginners, those with some editing experience, or the next Tim Burton! But applicants should be aware that most of the course will involve working with computers, and therefore some basic computer skills would be advantageous.

Course programme
Course Overview
This course is aimed at beginners who wish to produce a short animated film using traditional animation styles such as 2D drawn and 3D Claymation techniques. Students will produce a screening event at the end of the course.
Course Structure
Topics covered are:
- History of Animation
- Animation techniques
- Bounce, stretch and squash
- Developing a character
- Creating movement
- Producing a film sequence
Image capture and editing will be done on industry standard software and learner will need some basic IT skills to take part.
Qualification Aims
At the end of the course you will be awarded a College Certificate of Achievement. The skills you develop may count towards enabling you to study Media at Level 2 or 3.

Cost / Equipment
Course cost:£265 (no concessions).
You will also need to supply a memory stick or USB storage media of at least 1Gb.
All camera and animation equipment will be supplied for class activities.
