Course content:
This experiential course is an ideal qualification for those wanting to find out more about basic counselling skills and finding out more about themselves.
Two structured units take you through each stage of the counselling process from defining what counselling is to identifying needs and supporting clients.
The course content involves group and pair work building up listening and observation skills which are desirable for many people-related jobs.
No previous experience or training is required for this course, however, potential students should note that there is a minimum attendance requirement.
This qualification provides progression to the level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
