Explore a range of techniques and processes in leather jewellery making, including moulding, joining and surface and finishing techniques. By the end of the course you'll be able to construct a bangle or cuff using your own ideas. This course is ideal for complete beginners to jewellery-making, or equally more experienced makers wishing to work with new materials, or anyone needing a refresher.

About this course
- Make a simple cuff and bracelet using a variety of techniques
- Make a pair of earrings
- Make surface-decorated leather samples.
- Identify different types and qualities of leather and how they are used.
Tools and equipment: City Lit supplies basic leather, scalpels, glue, needles, scissors, thread and findings for you to experiment with the techniques taught. However, the materials provided are limited and you will be recommended to source your own special leather or other materials as you progress and wish to realise your own designs. The tutor will give you advice on suppliers.
Through demonstrations, practical work and discussions. You will be taught as a group and helped individually as required. Handouts will accompany demonstrations. The course is structured to manage the work within the class, although you may enjoy trying out your skills at home.
