Theory test,( multiple choice questions ). Afternoon session: Operators daily pre-use. Suitable for: Any person who would like to use truck mounted and trailer mounted cherry pickers.

All candidates must be at least 16 years old and be in possession of the following;
1. Full body Safety harness with fall restraint lanyard (available from Smart @ £69.95 each, plus VAT) c/w current inspection certificate.
2. Safety Glasses / Goggles
3. Hardhat with chin strap
4. Safety footwear
5. High Visibility Vest or Coat
6. Suitable foul weather clothing as some of the training may take place outdoors

Course programme

A 1 day course giving both theoretical and practical understanding of powered access (Category 1b, Vehicle & Trailer mounted Booms). There is a theory and practical test element to this course.Each successful candidate will be issued with a card and certificate which is valid for 5 years.

Course duration from 8.45am to 4.30pm approximately. Candidates should aim to arrive 15 minutes before this.

Our objective is that following the course the candidate;

will have a working knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.

will be aware of accident control and prevention.

will be aware of the need for personal protective equipment.

will know how to drive and safely manoeuvre a machine as required to a correct position and carry out a nominated task.

The candidate will also be able to carry out a thorough pre-use inspection and be aware of and know how to operate the auxiliary or manual descent procedure.

The course will be conducted in English and the consulting of safety notices are integral to the course. If any delegate is likely to have difficulties understanding the course please let us know in advance. Similarly, please let us know if any delegates have any reading or writing difficulties.

Since the use of MEWPs can be physically demanding, users should be physically fit and in good health and should, generally
, not have problems with eyesight or hearing, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, fear of heights/vertigo, giddiness/difficulty with balance, impaired limb function, alcohol or drug dependence or psychiatric illness
