About this course
Candidates must be in employment, whether paid or voluntary, in order to be able to exhibit the work based skills necessary to achieve the qualification aim. For those studying at Level 1, no previous qualifications are required. At level 2, it is expected that either a good level 1 qualification has already been achieved (e.g. Clait) or relevant experience in the work place has been acquired....

Who is the programme for? Primarily for those already in employment, in whatever occupational area, who regularly use a variety of applications on a computer.
What will I study? For each level there is one mandatory Unit (Make Selective Use of IT) and choice of optional units from a total of 15 available. Entry to the Programme?
How is it assessed? By the assessment of work based activities carried out by qualified assessors and/or expert witnesses approved by your assessor. Finally a portfolio of evidence will then be submitted for external verification by the OCR, awarding body.
Future prospects? Depending on the level achieved, progression may be made to ECDL, Clait Plus, Clait Advanced, ECDL Advanced or HNC.
When will the programme start? This is a roll-on, roll-off programme and candidates can commence the programme at any time during the academic year.
How long will it take? It is anticipated that candidates studying for the ITQ at Level 1 will take no more than 6 months, 9 months for a level 2 and 12 months for a level 3.
What about the Money? Please note that fee remission applies to anyone on a means tested benefit, job seekers allowance, a programme designated as Skills for Life (SfL) or where someone is studying their first full Level 2 or first full Level 3 (aged 19 25). If you are under 19 on the 31 August 2009 you would not normally pay tuition or registration fees. If a programme is Full Cost then no fee remission is applicable.
