Landscape Management and Garden Design
This area of research interest looks at a range of topics including landscape assessment and bioengineering, garden design, and conservation and art in the landscape. New aspects of research include the design, establishment and management and assessment of species-rich amenity grassland and the impact of management regimes on grassland invertebrates. Ethnobotanical research is also being developed with the construction of a database of traditional plant use in the UK. The College has collaborated with organisations such as the Countryside Agency and the University of Sheffield on several investigations in this field.
