- translate short passages of classical Latin poetry and prose into good, idiomatic English.
- display a thorough knowledge of constructions using the accusative and infinitive
- display a thorough knowledge of fear clauses.

Course programme

We shall start by reading the first book of Virgil’s famous ‘Aeneid’. On alternate weeks we shall revise grammar using 'Latin Sentence & Idiom' by R. Colebourn, starting at about Chapter 21.
