Lectra Kaledo Style (Intermediate)

Suitable for those with some previous experience of Kaledo Style software, this course is run at the FTM in a brand-new purpose built learning centre equipped with the latest software and facilities.

Developed to meet the specific needs of designers working in the fashion, textiles and jewellery sectors, tuition is in small groups with a focus on your particular learning requirements.

Lectra 'Kaledo Style' software is used in the fashion industry to create sophisticated technical drawings and presentational material for clients and manufacturers.

Intermediate Level Kaledo Style

For fashion and textile designers who have some experience of using this software. The Intermediate level will extend
existing knowledge and skills in using of the software by introducing more complex techniques and functions. The course
focus is on creating professional garment drawings by using textile designs, scanned fabrics and prints. The course will
enable designers to present their design ideas clearly and will help develop a personal design portfolio to a high standard.

The Intermediate course covers the following topics:

• Understanding Vectors and Bitmaps
• Capturing and filling vector drawings with textile designs
• Editing fabric fills: Move Motif, Scale Motif, Rotate Motif
• Creating your own textile print designs using Vector drawing tools
• Introduction to 'Image' and 'Colour' specialised tools
• Masking, extracting and erasing parts of Bitmap Images
• Displaying 'Shades of Grey' and convert images to 'Black and White'
• Accessing image settings to adjust hue, saturation and contrast values
• Creating detailed flat designs filled with fabric representations
• Presenting your ideas clearly: displaying palette data and colourways
• Development of your own Kaledo Style Fashion Portfolio
